Use this interactive demo to learn how to find and install apps from the Salesforce AppExchange.

Quick summary

The Salesforce AppExchange is the leading enterprise cloud marketplace where admins can discover, install, and manage third-party apps and integrations directly within their Salesforce org. This tutorial walks through how to access AppExchange from Salesforce Setup and install an app using the Get It Now button.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Setup in the top-right corner of Salesforce, then search for AppExchange Marketplace in the Quick Find box.
  2. Click Go To AppExchange to open the marketplace.
  3. On the AppExchange page, use the search bar to find the app you want to connect to Salesforce.
  4. Search for your desired app — for example, Bar Code Generator — using the search bar.
  5. Select the app you want to install from the search results.
  6. Click the Get It Now button on the app listing page to begin installation.
  7. Return to Salesforce Setup and search for Installed Packages in the Quick Find to verify the installation.
  8. View and manage all of your installed apps in the Installed Packages section.

📌 Why this matters

Knowing how to access and use the Salesforce AppExchange is essential for any Salesforce admin or power user looking to extend their CRM with third-party apps and integrations. The AppExchange marketplace offers thousands of pre-built solutions — from barcode generators to analytics tools — that install directly into your Salesforce org without custom development. Being able to quickly find, evaluate, and install apps through Setup streamlines workflow automation and reduces time-to-value for new functionality. Verifying installations via Installed Packages ensures admins maintain full visibility and control over their Salesforce environment.
