Quick summary
Adding a column in Smartsheet takes just a few clicks using the Column Menu in Grid View. You can insert a column to the left or right of any existing column, name it, and assign a column type before confirming.
Steps
- In Smartsheet's Grid View, select a column and click its corresponding Column Menu button.
- Click Insert Column Right or Insert Column Left to choose the placement of the new column.
- Enter a unique column name into the input field and select your preferred Column Type.
- Review your input, then click OK to confirm and create the column.
