Quick summary

This tutorial walks you through how to add an account in the Salesforce Authenticator app by navigating to Advanced User Details and completing the two-factor authentication setup. Following these steps enables secure mobile-based login verification directly from your Salesforce org settings.

Steps

  1. Click on your Avatar Icon in the top right corner and select Settings.
  2. Navigate to Advanced User Details under My Personal Information.
  3. Click Connect next to App Registration: Salesforce Authenticator.
  4. Enter the verification code sent to your email address and click Verify.
  5. Download the Salesforce Authenticator app from the App Store or Play Store, add your account, and enter the two-word phrase shown in the app, then click Connect.
  6. Wait while your authenticator connects to your account — you will see a loading screen during this process.
  7. Confirm a green checkmark appears, indicating you have successfully added Salesforce Authenticator to your account.

📌 Why this matters

Setting up Salesforce Authenticator adds a critical layer of two-factor authentication to protect sensitive CRM data from unauthorized access. Organizations using Salesforce can enforce mobile-based identity verification, reducing the risk of credential-based breaches. The Salesforce Authenticator app provides a seamless, push-notification-driven login experience that meets modern security compliance requirements. Enabling this feature ensures that only verified users can access your Salesforce org, safeguarding customer records and business-critical workflows.
