Use this interactive demo to learn how to place and assign recipient fields in a PandaDoc document.

Quick summary

PandaDoc lets you add recipient fields directly in the document editor by dragging them from the Fields panel and assigning each field to the correct recipient before sending. Once all fields are placed and assigned, you can send the document for signature in one click.

Steps

  1. Open the document where you want to add recipient fields.
  2. In the document editor, locate the Fields panel on the right-hand side.
  3. Ensure at least one recipient has been added to your document.
  4. Before placing any field, assign it to the appropriate recipient.
  5. From the Fields panel, drag and drop the required fields onto the document.
  6. Verify that each recipient has their own designated fields placed correctly.
  7. Click Send when your document is ready for signature.

📌 Why this matters

Adding recipient fields in PandaDoc ensures that every signer knows exactly where to sign, initial, or fill in information, eliminating confusion and reducing back-and-forth during the signing process. The drag-and-drop Fields panel makes it fast to assign signature, date, and text fields to specific recipients directly inside the document editor. This level of field-level recipient control accelerates contract turnaround, improves compliance, and creates a professional e-signature experience for all parties. For teams sending high volumes of proposals, contracts, or agreements, mastering recipient field setup in PandaDoc is essential to closing deals faster.
