Try this guided demo to learn how to add border to PowerPoint slide.
  1. Go to the "Insert" tab.
  2. Click "Shapes" and select Rectangle.
  3. Draw the rectangle to fit the slide edges.
  4. Select the rectangle, then click "Shape Fill".
  5. Choose "No Fill".
  6. Click "Shape Outline".
  7. Choose a color and adjust the Weight to change the border thickness.
  8. Adjust the border as needed.

📌 Why this matters

Adding borders to your slides creates visual consistency across presentations and helps define content boundaries, making your information easier to process. Borders also serve as a professional workaround when you need uniform slide formatting but are working with mixed content sources or template limitations. They're particularly valuable for presentations that will be printed or displayed on screens with inconsistent color calibration, where the border ensures your slide edges remain clearly defined regardless of the viewing medium.
