Try this interactive demo to learn how to add exponents in Google Slides.
  1. Let's add an exponent to your text. First, type your base number—like "2" or "x"—in your slide.
  2. Highlight the number or letter you want as the exponent. Just select the character that'll go up top.
  3. Head to Format in the menu bar, then hover over Text to reveal more options.
  4. Click on Superscript. Your selected text will shrink and float above the baseline—perfect for exponents.
  5. Your exponent is now in place. Repeat these steps anytime you need powers, footnotes, or mathematical notation.

📌 Why this matters

Exponents matter because they provide a simple and efficient way to represent repeated multiplication and complex mathematical ideas. Using exponents in presentations, especially in tools like Google Slides, also helps make information look cleaner, more professional, and easier for audiences to follow.
