Use this interactive demo to learn how to attach products and line items to a Salesforce quote.

Quick summary

Adding quote line items in Salesforce lets sales reps attach specific products and quantities directly to an Opportunity quote, keeping deal values accurate and aligned. You can also sync quote line items back to the opportunity to ensure pricing stays consistent across your CRM records.

Steps

  1. Navigate and click on Opportunities in the menubar on top.
  2. Locate the specific Opportunity record where you want to add the line items.
  3. Find and click on Quotes in the right column.
  4. Click on the existing quote in the Quotes quick preview box.
  5. If you don't already have a quote, click on New Quote to create one.
  6. Click on the Add Products button in front of Quote Line Items.
  7. Select the products to be added to the Quote.
  8. Input the Quantity for each selected product.
  9. Hit Save to confirm the added products.
  10. To sync Quote Line Items to the opportunity, click the down arrow next to New Opportunity and select Start Sync.
  11. Hit Continue to proceed with the sync.
  12. You will receive a success message once the sync finishes.

📌 Why this matters

Accurately tracking products and pricing at the quote level is essential for any sales team using Salesforce CPQ or standard quoting. Adding quote line items to an Opportunity ensures that deal values reflect real product selections and quantities, reducing manual errors and rework. The ability to sync quote line items directly back to the Opportunity keeps revenue data consistent across the entire CRM pipeline. This workflow helps sales reps close deals faster by maintaining a single source of truth for pricing and product configuration.
