Use this step-by-step demo to learn how to add shapes in Google Slides.
  1. On your slide canvas, click Insert.
  2. In the dropdown menu, select Shapes.
  3. Hover over Shapes.
  4. Select a Shape you want to use.
  5. Click and drag on your canvas to add the Shape and you're good to go!

📌 Why this matters

Adding shapes transforms your presentations from text-heavy slides into visually engaging stories. You can create custom diagrams, flowcharts, and infographics that explain complex processes more clearly than bullet points ever could. Shapes also serve as design elements that help organize information and guide your audience's attention to key points. Beyond basic presentations, you're building a visual vocabulary that makes your ideas more memorable and professional, whether you're explaining a workflow to colleagues or teaching concepts to students.
