Use this interactive demo to learn how to add slide transitions in Google Slides.
  1. Click on the slide where you want to add a transition from the left sidebar.
  2. Go to the Slide option in the top menu.
  3. Select Transition from the dropdown menu.
  4. In the right panel, choose a transition type (like Fade, Slide, or Flip).
  5. Adjust the speed using the slider below the transition options.
  6. Click Apply to all slides if you want the same transition everywhere.
  7. Click the Play button in the panel to preview the transition and you're all set!

📌 Why this matters

Slide transitions transform your presentation from a series of static screens into a cohesive visual story. Beyond making your slides look polished, transitions control pacing and guide audience attention during key moments. They're particularly powerful for maintaining engagement during virtual presentations where viewers can easily get distracted. The real advantage lies in creating smooth narrative flow between different sections or topics, helping your audience mentally process information shifts rather than experiencing jarring jumps that can break their concentration and comprehension.
