Use this interactive demo to learn how to embed a Web Browser Control inside an MS Access form.

Quick summary

The Web Browser Control in MS Access lets you embed live web content directly inside a database form without leaving the application. Adding this control takes under two minutes and requires no coding — just a few clicks inside Form Design view.

Steps

  1. Open the database containing the form you want to edit.
  2. Navigate to the Create tab.
  3. Select Form Design to enter design mode.
  4. Locate the Controls group and click the drop-down arrow to expand all available controls.
  5. Click the Web Browser Control button.
  6. Click on the form where you want to place the control.
  7. Enter the website address in the empty URL field.
  8. Click OK to insert the control into the form.
  9. Resize and reposition the control by dragging its edges or corners.
  10. Switch to Form View to test the control and verify it loads correctly.
  11. Your Access database now has seamless web integration via the Web Browser Control.

📌 Why this matters

The Web Browser Control in Microsoft Access enables database developers and power users to display live web content — such as dashboards, maps, or online reports — directly inside an Access form, eliminating the need to switch between applications. This built-in ActiveX control bridges the gap between local database workflows and web-based resources, improving productivity and data visibility. For organizations that rely on Access as a core business tool, embedding web content natively means faster decision-making and a more unified user experience without requiring custom code or third-party add-ins.
