Use this step-by-step demo to learn how to auto-play slides in Google Slides.
  1. Click Slideshow in the upper-right corner of your Google Slides presentation.
  2. In the slideshow view, move your cursor to the bottom-left of the screen to display the presentation toolbar. On the toolbar, click the ellipsis (More options) button to show additional tools.
  3. Click Auto-play on the presentation toolbar and choose the duration you want each slide to be displayed.
  4. Click Play and let your slideshow run automatically.

📌 Why this matters

Auto-playing presentations lets you create professional displays for lobbies, trade shows, or kiosks without constantly manning the computer. You can also use timed slides during virtual meetings to maintain steady pacing and avoid awkward transitions. Beyond the obvious convenience, automatic timing forces you to design more focused slides since each one gets equal screen time. This constraint actually improves your storytelling by eliminating the temptation to rush through some sections while dwelling too long on others, creating a more balanced viewing experience.
