Use this interactive demo to learn how to make your Google Slides advance automatically on a timer.

Quick summary

Google Slides' built-in Auto-play feature lets you automatically advance slides on a set timer so your presentation runs hands-free. You can also enable the Loop option to keep the slideshow cycling continuously without manual input.

Steps

  1. Click Slideshow to enter presentation mode and get started.
  2. Hover near the bottom-left corner and click the three-dot menu to open playback options.
  3. Select Auto-play and choose how many seconds each slide displays before advancing.
  4. Toggle Loop on so your presentation restarts from the beginning when it finishes.

📌 Why this matters

Automatically advancing slides in Google Slides eliminates the need for a presenter to manually click through each slide, making it ideal for kiosk displays, trade show loops, and self-running presentations. The built-in Auto-play and Loop settings give users precise control over slide timing and continuous playback without any third-party tools. This feature saves time, reduces presenter fatigue, and ensures a consistent, polished delivery every time the presentation runs.
