Quick summary
Backing up Salesforce data is done through the built-in Data Export tool found in Setup, allowing admins to run a one-time export or schedule recurring backups. Once initiated, Salesforce processes the export and sends an email notification when the backup file is ready to download.
Steps
- Go to Setup from the Salesforce navigation menu.
- Search for "Data Export" in the Quick Find bar in the left column.
- Select the Data you want to export.
- Hit Start Export to begin the backup process.
- Choose a One-time Export to back up once, or select Schedule Export to set up recurring backups.
- Wait for an email notification confirming the export is complete.
