Use this interactive demo to learn how to BCC emails directly into your Salesforce records.

Quick summary

The Email to Salesforce feature lets you automatically log emails to related Salesforce records by BCCing a unique Salesforce address. Setting it up takes just a few steps inside Salesforce Settings and works with any external email client like Gmail or Outlook.

Steps

  1. Go to the Profile icon on the top right and select Settings.
  2. Search for My Email to Salesforce in the Quick Find box and select it.
  3. Review your acceptable Email Addresses shown in the text field.
  4. Copy your unique Email to Salesforce Address to use when BCCing emails.
  5. Select Automatically assign them to related Salesforce records to enable auto-logging.
  6. Hit Save to apply your settings.
  7. Confirm the success prompt confirming your setting is saved.
  8. Open your preferred email client, compose an email, and add the Salesforce BCC address from Step 4 in the BCC field.

📌 Why this matters

BCCing emails to Salesforce ensures that every customer conversation is automatically logged against the right contact, lead, or opportunity — without manual data entry. The Email to Salesforce feature helps sales teams maintain a complete, accurate activity history inside their CRM, improving visibility and accountability across the pipeline. For organizations relying on Salesforce as their system of record, this capability reduces the risk of missed follow-ups and keeps all stakeholders aligned on deal progress.
