Try this interactive demo to learn how to bold text in Google Slides.
  1. Click the text box you want to bold.
  2. Highlight the text inside the text box.
  3. In the top toolbar, click Bold or you can also press Ctrl + B on Windows or Command + B on Mac.
  4. The selected text will now appear in bold.

📌 Why this matters

Bold text transforms your slides from basic information dumps into structured presentations that guide your audience's attention exactly where you need it. You can emphasize key statistics, highlight action items, or make critical deadlines impossible to miss. Beyond simple emphasis, bold text creates visual hierarchy that helps viewers process complex information quickly during presentations. When your audience only has seconds to absorb each slide, strategic bolding ensures your most important points land first and stick longest.
