Use this interactive demo to learn how to share and comment inside an Amplitude Notebook.

Quick summary

Amplitude Notebooks lets teams share analytics and collaborate in real time by inviting teammates, setting permissions, and posting inline comments — all without leaving the notebook editor. This step-by-step walkthrough shows exactly how to use the Share tab and Comments feature to keep data conversations in context.

Steps

  1. Open your notebook in Amplitude's Notebook Editor and click the Share button in the top-right corner.
  2. In the Share tab, click the Add People input field and type the name or email address of the collaborator you want to invite, then select their profile from the suggested results.
  3. Open the access menu and choose your preferred permission level for that user.
  4. Optionally, click the message box and type a short personal note to include with the invitation.
  5. Click Share to send the invitation and grant the selected user access to the notebook.
  6. Once the user is added, click the More option on the notebook to begin collaborating.
  7. Select Comment from the available options.
  8. Under the Notebook Comments tab, click the message box, type your feedback or thoughts, and mention a teammate if you want to send them a notification.
  9. Click Comment to post your message.
  10. Your comment is posted instantly — repeat these steps to continue collaborating with teammates inside the notebook.

📌 Why this matters

Amplitude Notebooks enables data teams and stakeholders to collaborate directly on analytics insights without switching tools or losing context. By combining real-time sharing, granular permission controls, and inline commenting, teams can align faster on decisions driven by product and behavioral data. This feature is essential for organizations that need a single source of truth where analysts, product managers, and executives can discuss findings together. Streamlining notebook collaboration in Amplitude reduces feedback loops and keeps data-driven conversations tied directly to the charts and analyses that matter.
