How to Configure RIP in Cisco Packet Tracer

Follow this interactive demo to learn how to configure RIP in Cisco Packet Tracer.
  1. Open Cisco Packet Tracer.
  2. In the device selection box at the bottom of the window, add two routers and two PCs to the workspace.
  3. In the lower-left toolbar, click Connections, then connect PC1 to Router1, Router1 to Router2, and Router2 to PC2.
  4. Configure the IP addresses on the PCs and router interfaces so both routers are in the same transit network and each PC is in a different LAN.
  5. Click Router1, then open the CLI tab.
  6. In the CLI, enter the following commands in order, pressing Enter after each line, to enable RIPv2 and advertise Router1’s connected networks:
