The easiest way to configure the OpenAI credentials in n8n if the connection fails is to nominate a newly generated API key. Here’s a short guide on how to do it:
- On OpenAI Platform's main dashboard, head over to the left-side panel and click 'API Keys'.
- After that, click 'Create New Secret Key' to proceed.
- Configure all the required settings and provide all the necessary details, such as the API Key Name, Project, and Permissions.
- Once done, click 'Create Secret Key' to generate the new API credential.
- Check the new OpenAI API key, then click the 'Copy' button next to it.
- Following that, go back to your n8n workspace and click the 'Credentials' tab.
- Find and select 'OpenAI Account' to proceed.
- Subsequently, tap the API Key input field and replace the default value with the new one.
- If necessary, configure the other relevant settings and provide additional information.
- Once done, click the 'Retry' button next to the error message.
- Finally, your OpenAI account will be reconnected to your n8n credentials.
