Use this interactive demo to learn how to automate Google Drive file notifications straight to Telegram.

Quick summary

This demo shows how to create a Zap that automatically sends a Telegram message whenever a new file is uploaded to Google Drive, using Zapier's no-code automation editor. By connecting Google Drive as the trigger and Telegram as the action, teams can receive instant bot notifications for every new upload without writing a single line of code.

Steps

  1. Go to the left-side panel and tap 'Create' to start building a new automation.
  2. Choose 'Zaps' from the list of options.
  3. Click 'Trigger' to begin setting up the integration's trigger step.
  4. Search for 'Google Drive' and select it from the suggested results as your trigger app.
  5. Click the 'Trigger Event' menu to view available trigger options.
  6. Select 'New File' from the list to trigger the Zap on every new Google Drive upload.
  7. Tap 'Sign In' and log into your Google account to connect it to Zapier.
  8. Click 'Allow' to accept the terms and grant the necessary permissions to Zapier.
  9. Provide the required details, such as specifying the Google Drive folder you want to monitor for new uploads.
  10. Tap 'Continue' to run your input and test the Trigger.
  11. Select the record you wish to connect, then tap 'Continue With Selected Record'.
  12. Search for 'Telegram' and select it as the Action app.
  13. Tap the 'Action Event' menu to view available action options.
  14. Choose 'Send Message' from the list as the Telegram action.
  15. Click 'Sign In' to connect your Telegram account to Zapier.
  16. Enter your Bot Token and click 'Yes, Continue to Telegram' to authenticate.
  17. Fill out the input fields one by one with the required Telegram action details.
  18. For the 'Message Text' field, open its text box and click the 'Add' icon to insert dynamic data.
  19. Choose 'File' from the list of options to map the Google Drive file to the message.
  20. Tap 'Continue' to publish and enable the integration.
  21. Your Google Drive uploads are now connected to Telegram — every new file added to Google Drive will be automatically sent as a bot message to your Telegram account.

📌 Why this matters

Connecting Google Drive to Telegram via Zapier eliminates the need for manual file-monitoring by delivering instant automated notifications to your Telegram account whenever a new file is uploaded. This no-code integration is essential for teams and individuals who rely on Google Drive as a shared storage hub and need real-time alerts without constantly checking their Drive. By automating file upload notifications through a Telegram bot, users can streamline workflows, reduce response times, and ensure no critical upload goes unnoticed. Zapier's visual editor makes this Google Drive-to-Telegram automation accessible to anyone, regardless of technical skill level.
