Quick summary
The Slack Jira integration lets teams create and manage Jira issues directly from Slack channels by connecting Jira Cloud via the Automations menu. Once the webhook connection is established, any team member can use the /Jira slash command to open, track, and update issues without leaving Slack.
Steps
- Click the More icon in the Slack left sidebar and select Automations from the dropdown.
- Click on Apps within the Automations panel.
- Search for and select Jira Cloud from the apps list.
- You will be taken to the Jira Cloud app page inside Slack.
- Click Add to Slack and hit Allow to grant the necessary access permissions.
- Log in to your Jira account to complete the authorization flow.
- Confirm the connection is established between Jira and Slack, then return to Slack.
- Type /Jira in any Slack channel to open options to create and manage Jira issues.
