Use this interactive demo to learn how to build a daily schedule in Notion with a calendar, to-do lists, and reminders.

Quick summary

You can create a schedule in Notion by inserting a calendar view into a page, adding dated items with to-do lists, and attaching timestamps and reminders to each task. This method turns a blank Notion page into a fully functional daily planner with built-in time tracking.

Steps

  1. Create a new page in Notion and enter a title for your schedule.
  2. Use the slash command (/calendar) to insert a calendar view into your page.
  3. Click the three dotted icon for more options and choose a database to link to your new calendar.
  4. Hover over any day in the calendar and click the (+) icon that appears to add a schedule item.
  5. Enter a title for the new item — it functions like a full page and can be expanded.
  6. Use the slash command (/todo) to insert a To-do List inside your schedule item.
  7. Type the @ symbol to browse additional options and add a timestamp to your to-do list.
  8. Select the suggested timestamp option from the dropdown and click to insert it next to your task.
  9. Click the inserted timestamp to open its options and view time-specific settings.
  10. Use the pop-up menu to set a reminder for the timestamp.
  11. Choose the desired reminder time from the available options.
  12. Click outside the pop-up to close and return to your schedule item.
  13. Continue adding more items and tasks to build out your daily schedule.
  14. Click outside the item to close and return to the main calendar view.
  15. Your Notion calendar now displays a complete daily schedule with timestamps and reminders for each item.

📌 Why this matters

Creating a schedule in Notion allows individuals and teams to consolidate task planning, time-blocking, and reminders inside a single connected workspace. Notion's built-in calendar view, to-do lists, and timestamp features eliminate the need for separate scheduling tools, reducing context-switching and improving daily productivity. The ability to attach reminders directly to timestamped tasks ensures that deadlines and appointments are never missed. For anyone already using Notion for notes or project management, building a schedule natively means all context and content stays in one place.
