Use this step-by-step demo to learn how to create a slide deck in Google Slides.
  1. Open Google Slides and click Blank presentation to start a new slide deck.
  2. Click the top text box.
  3. Add a Title.
  4. Add a Subtitle.
  5. Click the Untitled presentation text in the top left corner and enter a name for your file.
  6. Click Theme in the top toolbox.
  7. Choose a suitable theme for your presentation, and you're good to go!

📌 Why this matters

Creating a well-structured slide deck gives you a professional foundation for presenting ideas clearly to any audience. Beyond the obvious presentation benefits, starting with proper titles, themes, and file organization saves you from the chaos of last-minute formatting scrambles. A cohesive visual theme builds credibility and keeps your audience focused on your content rather than being distracted by inconsistent design. This upfront structure also makes collaboration smoother when teammates need to jump in and help refine your presentation.
