Use this interactive demo to learn how to reschedule and update post times across your social channels.

Quick summary

Buffer's Publishing feature lets you customize post times for scheduled social media content directly from the Calendar view. In just a few clicks, you can open any scheduled post, edit its date and time, and save the updated schedule without republishing from scratch.

Steps

  1. Click "Publishing" in the top menu to access your publishing dashboard.
  2. Select "Calendar" to view and locate your scheduled posts.
  3. Find and click on the scheduled post you want to update to open the editor.
  4. Click the "Edit" button to enter editing mode for the selected post.
  5. Click "Edit" again to confirm and proceed with changes.
  6. Select a new date and time from the calendar picker to reschedule the post.
  7. Click "Done" to apply your chosen date and time.
  8. Click "Save" to confirm and lock in the new posting time.

📌 Why this matters

Being able to customize post times in Buffer gives social media managers precise control over when content goes live across all connected channels. Rescheduling a post takes seconds — no need to delete and recreate content — which reduces manual work and protects carefully crafted copy. Buffer's Calendar view makes it easy to spot gaps or conflicts in your publishing schedule and adjust on the fly. This level of scheduling flexibility is essential for teams managing multiple accounts who need to react to real-time events or optimize posting times for audience engagement.
