Detaching a component instance in Webflow lets you unlink it from its parent component so it can be edited independently. Use the Navigator menu or a right-click shortcut to break the link without affecting other instances.
Steps
- Open the Navigator menu or directly click the component instance you want to detach.
- Right-click the component instance to open the context menu, or press Shift + Ctrl + A as a keyboard shortcut.
- Select Unlink Instance from the bottom of the context menu.
- Confirm the element name and menu options have changed to reflect a normal, non-component element.
- Your instance is now fully detached from the component and can be modified individually.
