How to Do Jump Links in Unbounce

Use this interactive demo to learn how to create anchor jump links inside your Unbounce landing page.

Quick summary

Jump links in Unbounce let visitors navigate instantly to a specific section of a landing page by clicking a button. To set one up, you copy an element ID from the page editor and assign it as the button's click action URL using a hash (#) prefix.

Steps

  1. Inside Unbounce's page editor, find and select the element you want to use as the jump destination.
  2. Go to the right-side panel, scroll down to the Element Metadata section, and copy the element ID provided there.
  3. Select the button you want visitors to click to trigger the jump link.
  4. In the button's settings, tap the URL input field under Click Action and type a number sign (#).
  5. Paste the element ID you copied directly after the # symbol in the URL field.
  6. Click Save to apply the changes to your page.
  7. The jump link is now live — when a visitor clicks the button, the page will automatically scroll to the target element.

📌 Why this matters

Jump links in Unbounce allow marketers to create smooth, anchor-based navigation within a single landing page — improving user experience and keeping visitors engaged without loading new pages. By linking a button's click action to a specific element ID, teams can guide prospects directly to key sections like pricing, testimonials, or a call-to-action. This no-code technique helps increase scroll depth and conversion rates on long-form Unbounce landing pages. It's an essential tactic for optimizing landing page structure and reducing bounce rates caused by overwhelming page length.
