Try this guided demo to learn how to download Google Slides on Mac.
  1. In your Google Slides workspace or dashboard, choose and open your presentation.
  2. Click File in the top toolbar and hover over Download.
  3. In the panel, click Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx) and save. You’re all set! You can now access your slides on your Mac

📌 Why this matters

Downloading your presentation as a PowerPoint file gives you offline access and ensures compatibility across different devices and software. You can present without internet connectivity, share files with colleagues who use different platforms, and maintain formatting consistency. This approach also creates a backup copy stored locally on your Mac, protecting your work from potential cloud service interruptions. The PowerPoint format remains the gold standard for presentation sharing in professional environments, making your slides accessible to virtually anyone regardless of their preferred software.
