Use this interactive demo to learn how to sync and embed a Jira board inside Notion.

Quick summary

To embed Jira in Notion, you copy your Jira board's share link, paste it into a Notion page, authenticate using a Jira API token, and choose to sync or embed the board directly. This integration lets teams view live Jira project data without leaving their Notion workspace.

Steps

  1. Open the Notion page where you want to embed the Jira content preview.
  2. Go to your Jira Project Board, click the Share button, and copy the link.
  3. Paste the Share link into your Notion page and click the option to Sync Jira.
  4. Click Get Started to begin the connection setup.
  5. Enter your Jira site URL and API token in the fields provided.
  6. In your Jira account, click the profile icon in the top right and select Manage account.
  7. Navigate to the Security tab in your Atlassian account settings.
  8. Scroll down to the API tokens section and click create and manage API tokens.
  9. Click Create API token to generate a new token.
  10. Label your token and click Create to confirm.
  11. Copy your new API key from the confirmation screen.
  12. Return to Notion and paste your Jira Site URL and API token into the connection form.
  13. Click create sync to establish the connection between Jira and Notion.
  14. Click Sync to link Jira with your Notion workspace.
  15. Paste your Jira board URL again and select Embed to embed the full Jira board in Notion.

📌 Why this matters

Embedding Jira directly into Notion eliminates the need to switch between tools, giving teams a single workspace where project management and documentation live side by side. By syncing a Jira board into Notion using an API token, teams get live visibility into sprint progress, issue tracking, and project status without leaving Notion. This integration is especially valuable for cross-functional teams who plan and document in Notion but manage engineering work in Jira. It reduces context switching, improves alignment, and keeps everyone working from a single source of truth.
