Use this interactive demo to learn how to enable enhanced domains in your Salesforce org.

Quick summary

Enabling Enhanced Domains in Salesforce standardizes your org's URLs by applying your My Domain name across all Salesforce services. This process involves registering a custom domain, verifying availability, and deploying the updated URLs through Salesforce Setup.

Steps

  1. Go to Setup by clicking the gear icon in the top navigation bar.
  2. Use Quick Find to search for My Domain and select it from the results.
  3. Click Edit under the My Domain Details section.
  4. Add a new domain name in the provided input field.
  5. Click the Check Availability button next to the My Domain Name text field.
  6. Confirm that the domain shows as Available.
  7. Click Save to submit your new domain name.
  8. Once Salesforce creates the new URLs, return to My Domain and click Deploy to activate them.

📌 Why this matters

Enabling Enhanced Domains in Salesforce ensures that your org's URLs consistently reflect your custom My Domain name across all Salesforce services, including Experience Cloud sites, Visualforce pages, and APIs. This is a required step for organizations moving to Salesforce's modern identity and security architecture, helping to prevent phishing attacks and improve brand consistency. Admins who complete this configuration ensure their Salesforce environment meets current Salesforce security standards and avoids service disruptions tied to legacy URL formats.
