Use this interactive demo to learn how to apply different formatting for desktop and mobile views in Unbounce.

Quick summary

Unbounce lets you apply separate formatting to desktop and mobile views by using the visibility toggle in the page editor's Contents panel. This workflow lets you show or hide elements per device, giving you full control over how your landing page looks on each screen size.

Steps

  1. In the Desktop view of Unbounce's page editor, go to the left pane and drag the element you want onto the main workspace.
  2. Go to the right-side panel and use the available options to customize the element based on your preference.
  3. Click the Mobile tab to switch to mobile view.
  4. In the Contents panel, find the newly added element and click the Eye icon beside it to hide it on Mobile view.
  5. Drag the same element again from the left pane onto the main workspace in mobile view.
  6. Use the right-side panel tools to customize the element's design for mobile.
  7. Switch back to Desktop view using the Desktop tab.
  8. In the Contents panel, find the element intended for mobile-only display and click the Eye icon to hide it on Desktop view.
  9. Your Unbounce landing page now has separate formatting for desktop and mobile. Repeat these steps to add more device-specific elements as needed.

📌 Why this matters

Unbounce's separate desktop and mobile formatting feature gives marketers precise control over how landing pages appear on each device without duplicating entire pages. By using the Eye icon visibility toggle in the Contents panel, teams can show or hide specific elements per view, ensuring a tailored user experience for both desktop and mobile visitors. This is critical for conversion rate optimization, since mobile users often need a different layout, content hierarchy, or call-to-action placement than desktop users. For anyone running paid campaigns or A/B tests in Unbounce, device-specific formatting helps maximize relevance and improve landing page performance across all screen sizes.
