Quick summary

This tutorial walks you through building a Zapier automation that imports text from Notion into Buffer whenever a page is updated. By connecting Notion as the trigger and Buffer as the action app, you can automatically push written content from your workspace into your social media queue without manual copying.

Steps

  1. Go to the left-side panel in Zapier, then click 'Create'.
  2. Choose 'Zaps' from the list of options.
  3. Click the 'Trigger' tab to start the integration process.
  4. Search for 'Notion' and select it from the suggested results.
  5. Click the 'Trigger Event' menu to view the available options.
  6. Choose 'Updated Page' as the Trigger Event.
  7. Click 'Sign In' and log into your Notion account.
  8. Review the required permissions, then tap 'Select Pages' to proceed.
  9. Tick the checkbox beside the target page, then click 'Allow Access'.
  10. Specify the 'Page ID' of the selected Notion page.
  11. Click 'Continue' to run your input and test the Trigger.
  12. Select the record containing the text you want to import, then click 'Continue With Selected Record'.
  13. Search for 'Buffer' and choose it as the Action app.
  14. Click the 'Action Event' menu to proceed further.
  15. Select 'Create Idea' from the list of Action Events.
  16. Click 'Sign In' and log into your active Buffer account.
  17. Click 'Allow Access' to grant the necessary permissions.
  18. Click the 'Organization' menu and choose your preferred Buffer Organization.
  19. Click the 'Add' icon inside the Title field to import text from Notion.
  20. Select 'Properties Title Title Plain Text' from the given options.
  21. Tap the 'Add' icon next to the Text field to map the content.
  22. Select 'Content Markdown' from the provided list.
  23. Click 'Continue' to publish the integration.
  24. Your Zap is now live — Notion content will automatically import into Buffer posts or ideas.

📌 Why this matters

Manually copying content from Notion into Buffer is time-consuming and error-prone, especially for teams managing high-volume content pipelines. This Zapier integration automates the transfer of text from Notion pages directly into Buffer ideas or posts, triggering instantly whenever a Notion page is updated. It eliminates repetitive copy-paste work and ensures your social media queue stays in sync with your content workspace. For content creators and marketing teams, this automation accelerates publishing workflows and reduces the risk of content falling through the cracks.
