Use this interactive demo to learn how to connect Asana tasks to Google Tasks using a Zap.

Quick summary

This demo walks you through integrating Asana with Google Tasks using Zapier, so new Asana events automatically create corresponding tasks in Google Tasks. The step-by-step Zap setup requires no coding and takes just minutes to configure and publish.

Steps

  1. Log in to Zapier, click "Create," and select "Zaps" to begin building your automation.
  2. Click "Trigger" to open the trigger configuration panel.
  3. Search for and select "Asana" as the Trigger App.
  4. Choose a trigger event under Asana to define what action starts the Zap.
  5. Sign in to your Asana account and click "Continue" to authorize the connection.
  6. Select a value under "Workspace / Organization," then click "Continue" to proceed.
  7. Click "Test trigger" to verify that Zapier can pull sample data from Asana.
  8. Click "Continue with selected record" to confirm the test data and move to the action setup.
  9. Search for and select "Google Tasks" as the action app.
  10. Choose an action event under Google Tasks to define what happens when the trigger fires.
  11. Sign in to your Google Tasks account and click "Continue" to authorize the connection.
  12. Complete and customize the required fields to map Asana data to the correct Google Tasks fields.
  13. Click "Test step" to confirm the action works correctly end-to-end.
  14. Click "Publish" to activate the Zap and complete the Asana–Google Tasks integration.

📌 Why this matters

Integrating Asana with Google Tasks via Zapier eliminates the need to manually duplicate tasks across platforms, keeping project management and personal to-do lists in sync automatically. Teams that use Asana for collaborative project tracking alongside Google Tasks for individual task management can ensure nothing slips through the cracks. This no-code automation is especially valuable for professionals who rely on Google Workspace daily and need Asana updates reflected in their Google Tasks in real time. By publishing a single Zap, users unlock seamless cross-platform task synchronization without any developer involvement.
