Use this interactive demo to learn how to automate note syncing between Notion and OneNote using Zapier.

Quick summary

This tutorial shows how to integrate Notion with OneNote using a Zapier automation, so that changes in your Notion database automatically trigger actions in OneNote. Setting up this Zap eliminates manual copy-pasting and keeps your notes synchronized across both platforms without any code.

Steps

  1. Click 'Create' and select 'Zap' to start a new automation.
  2. Search for and select 'Notion' as your trigger app.
  3. Select a trigger event, such as 'Create Database Item' or 'Update Database Item'.
  4. Sign in to your Notion account and grant Zapier access.
  5. Specify the conditions that will trigger the Zap.
  6. Click 'Test trigger' to continue.
  7. Click 'Continue with selected record'.
  8. Search for and select 'OneNote' as the action app.
  9. Select an action event, such as 'Create Note' or 'Append Note'.
  10. Sign in to your OneNote account and grant Zapier access.
  11. Specify the action details based on the data from Notion.
  12. Ensure the action is successfully carried out in OneNote based on the Notion trigger.
  13. Rename your Zap by clicking 'Untitled Zap' and entering a new name.
  14. Click 'Publish' to activate your Zap.
  15. Your Notion–OneNote integration is now live, enabling seamless note management and enhanced productivity across both platforms.

📌 Why this matters

Integrating Notion with OneNote via Zapier lets teams automatically sync database entries and notes between two of the most widely used productivity platforms, eliminating manual data entry and reducing the risk of information getting lost. This no-code automation is especially valuable for knowledge workers who manage projects in Notion but collaborate with colleagues who rely on Microsoft OneNote within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. By connecting these tools through a Zapier Zap, any new or updated Notion database item can instantly trigger note creation or updates in OneNote, keeping both workspaces consistent in real time. The result is a streamlined, cross-platform note management workflow that saves time and boosts team productivity without requiring any technical expertise.
