Use this interactive demo to learn how to connect PagerDuty to your Jira Cloud project.

Quick summary

This guide walks you through installing PagerDuty for Jira Cloud directly from the Jira Marketplace and completing the connection setup using a generated Connection Code. Once configured, PagerDuty incidents and Jira issues stay in sync for faster incident response.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the top menu bar and click Apps.
  2. Select Explore More Apps from the dropdown list.
  3. Search for PagerDuty and select PagerDuty For Jira Cloud from the results.
  4. Click Get App in the top-right corner of the listing page.
  5. Click Get It Now to confirm and begin the installation.
  6. Click Configure to open the integration settings.
  7. Copy the provided Connection Code and enter it into PagerDuty's setup page to complete the integration.

📌 Why this matters

Integrating PagerDuty with Jira Cloud bridges the gap between incident management and project tracking, ensuring that on-call alerts and engineering workflows stay in sync. When a PagerDuty incident fires, the integration can automatically create or update Jira issues, reducing manual handoffs and speeding up resolution times. Teams gain full visibility into incident status directly within Jira, eliminating context-switching between tools. This integration is essential for DevOps and engineering teams that need to connect real-time alerting with structured issue management.
