Use this interactive demo to learn how to connect SonarQube to your Bitbucket pipeline in minutes.

Quick summary

This guide shows how to integrate SonarQube with Bitbucket Pipelines by adding the SonarQube pipe directly inside the Bitbucket pipeline editor and committing the configuration — no manual YAML editing required.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the left-side panel, then click Pipelines.
  2. Choose the specific pipeline you wish to integrate.
  3. Tap the View Configuration icon.
  4. Click Edit at the top-right corner.
  5. Under the Configure tab, tap Add Pipes (Integrations).
  6. Search for SonarQube, choose your preferred integration, then click the Copy Script icon next to it.
  7. Click the code panel and paste the copied snippet.
  8. Tap Commit to save the changes.
  9. Add a short commit message and click Commit once again to confirm.
  10. The selected Bitbucket pipeline is now integrated with SonarQube.

📌 Why this matters

Integrating SonarQube with Bitbucket Pipelines enables development teams to run automated code quality and security analysis on every commit without leaving their existing CI/CD workflow. By embedding the SonarQube pipe directly into the Bitbucket pipeline configuration, teams can catch bugs, vulnerabilities, and code smells before they reach production. This integration reduces manual review overhead and enforces consistent code standards across every branch and pull request. It is an essential step for teams adopting DevSecOps practices and continuous inspection at scale.
