Use this interactive demo to learn how to sync Trello cards with Google Tasks using Zapier.

Quick summary

This tutorial shows how to integrate Trello with Google Tasks using a Zapier automation, so that activity in Trello automatically triggers task creation or updates in Google Tasks. Setting up this Zap takes just minutes and requires no coding knowledge.

Steps

  1. Log in to Zapier and click "Create" to begin building a new automation.
  2. Select "New Zap" from the options presented.
  3. Click "Trigger" to configure the starting point of your Zap.
  4. Search for "Trello" and select it as the Trigger App.
  5. Click "Action" to set up what happens when the trigger fires.
  6. Choose "Google Tasks" as the Action App.
  7. Select a Trello event that will trigger the Zap, based on your workflow setup.
  8. Click "Continue" to proceed to the next configuration step.
  9. Choose a Trello board and fill in any other required fields, then click "Continue".
  10. Under Google Tasks, choose the appropriate action event to perform.
  11. Log in to your Google Account and click "Allow" to grant Zapier access to Google Tasks.
  12. Fill in all required fields to complete the action configuration.
  13. Click "Test step" to verify the integration is working correctly.
  14. Click "Publish" to activate and complete the Trello–Google Tasks integration.

📌 Why this matters

Integrating Trello with Google Tasks via Zapier eliminates the need to manually duplicate work across two platforms, saving teams significant time and reducing the risk of missed tasks. When a Trello card is created or updated, Zapier automatically creates or updates a corresponding Google Tasks entry, keeping project management and personal task lists perfectly in sync. This automation is especially valuable for teams that use Trello for collaborative project tracking but rely on Google Tasks for individual to-do management. By connecting these two tools, users get a seamless, code-free workflow that bridges team-level and personal productivity in one automated pipeline.
