Use this interactive demo to learn how to create cross-page section links in your Webflow project.

Quick summary

Linking to a section on another page in Webflow requires assigning a unique section ID as the destination and constructing a relative or absolute URL with the format /pagename#sectionID. This technique enables smooth cross-page anchor navigation without any custom code.

Steps

  1. Select the destination section — click on the section you want users to land on (the destination).
  2. Open the elements right sidebar menu for that section.
  3. Go to the Settings tab in the right sidebar.
  4. In the ID field, enter a unique name for this section — copy or note this section ID for later use.
  5. Navigate to the source page where you want to place the link (the beginning of the journey).
  6. Select the element you want to turn into a link, ensuring it supports linking, or add a link block to it.
  7. Locate the linking section in the right sidebar menu of that element.
  8. For relative URLs, start the path with / using your homepage as the base URL.
  9. Enter the full link URL in the format /pagename#sectionID or site.com/pagename#sectionID.
  10. Open Preview mode and click the button to test the link.
  11. Confirm that clicking the link takes you to the correct linked section on the other page.

📌 Why this matters

Cross-page anchor linking in Webflow is essential for building intuitive site navigation that guides visitors directly to relevant content on any page. By assigning a unique section ID and constructing a simple URL with the #sectionID hash, designers can create seamless anchor links without writing any custom code. This capability improves user experience, reduces bounce rates, and is especially valuable for long-form pages, pricing tables, and feature comparisons where deep-linking drives higher engagement. Mastering Webflow cross-page section links gives teams full control over internal navigation structure and supports stronger on-page SEO through targeted internal linking.
