Quick summary

This demo shows you how to create 3D text in PowerPoint using built-in Shape Effects and Format Text Effects tools. You can add depth, bevel, and 3D rotation to any text box without needing third-party software.

Steps

  1. Go to the Insert tab in PowerPoint.
  2. Add a Text Box to your slide.
  3. Type and add your text inside the text box.
  4. Highlight your text and click on Shape Effect.
  5. Select 3-D Rotation from the Shape Effect menu.
  6. Select a 3D rotation preset such as Isometric or Perspective.
  7. Right-click on your text and select Format Text Effects.
  8. Adjust the Depth to add thickness and the Bevel to add edge detail to your 3D text.

📌 Why this matters

Creating 3D text in PowerPoint lets presenters design visually striking slides without relying on external graphic tools. PowerPoint's built-in Shape Effects, 3D Rotation presets, and Format Text Effects panel give users precise control over depth, bevel, and perspective. This capability is especially valuable for marketing decks, educational content, and branded presentations where visual impact matters. Mastering 3D text formatting helps users elevate slide design quality directly inside a tool they already use every day.
