Follow this interactive demo to learn how to make a clipping mask in Google Slides.
  1. Click the image on your slide that you want to clip or reshape.
  2. Click the Mask image button (the dropdown arrow beside the Crop button), choose Shapes, then select the shape you want to use to reshape your image.
  3. Your image will be clipped into the shape you select.

📌 Why this matters

Clipping masks transform standard rectangular images into eye-catching design elements that align with your presentation's visual theme. You can create circular profile photos, diamond-shaped product shots, or arrow-pointed callouts that guide audience attention exactly where you want it. Beyond aesthetics, masked images help establish visual hierarchy and brand consistency across slides. They also solve layout challenges by fitting images into tight spaces or unusual designs without awkward cropping that cuts off important details.
