Use this interactive demo to learn how to design and save a logo as a component in Figma.

Quick summary

This tutorial shows how to make a logo in Figma by inserting shapes and text on the design canvas, customizing each element using the right-side panel, and saving the finished logo as a reusable Figma component. By the end, your logo is ready to drop into any Figma project instantly.

Steps

  1. Go to the bottom section of the design canvas and use the menu options to insert the elements you want in your logo, such as shapes, text, and sketches.
  2. Arrange the objects one by one according to your creative concept, making all necessary adjustments to achieve your desired style.
  3. Select each element individually to begin customizing them one at a time.
  4. Navigate to the right-side panel and use the available options to further customize your logo's Position, Layout, Appearance, Color, and Visual Effects based on your preference.
  5. Click anywhere on the canvas to apply the changes, then select all layers of your logo.
  6. In the right-side panel, click the 'More Actions' icon.
  7. Choose 'Create Component' from the list of options.
  8. Your logo is now created and saved as a component, ready to be reused across your Figma designs.

📌 Why this matters

Creating a logo in Figma gives designers full control over every visual element — from shapes and typography to color and layout — all within a single, collaborative design tool. Saving the finished logo as a reusable Figma component means it can be dropped into any project instantly, ensuring brand consistency across every design file. Figma's real-time editing and powerful right-side panel make it easy to iterate on logo designs quickly without switching between tools. For teams and solo designers alike, building logos natively in Figma streamlines the entire brand design workflow from concept to production-ready asset.
