How to Make a Slide Hidden in Google Slides

Use this interactive demo to learn how to make a slide hidden in Google Slides.
  1. Right-click on the slide thumbnail you want to hide from your presentation view.
  2. Select "Skip slide" from the menu—it'll stay in your deck but won't appear during playback.
  3. To unhide it later, right-click the same slide and toggle "Skip slide" off. Easy.

📌 Why this matters

You might think you need separate presentation files for different audiences, but hiding slides lets you keep everything in one master deck. This becomes invaluable when you're presenting to mixed groups—maybe you need technical details for engineers but want to skip them for executives in the same meeting. You can also prepare backup slides with extra data or alternative explanations, then reveal them only if questions come up. It transforms a rigid slideshow into a flexible, audience-responsive presentation tool.
