  1. Open the YouTube app on your iPhone and tap your profile icon in the bottom-right corner.
  2. Sign in using your Google account. If you have not created a channel yet, YouTube will prompt you to create one.
  3. Open Safari and go to youtube.com. Tap the icon to the left of the URL bar, tap the three dots in the bottom-right of the menu, then tap Request Desktop Site.
  4. Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner of the desktop site. Pinch to zoom in if needed, then scroll down and tap Settings.
  5. Tap Add or manage your channels, and you will see an option to Create a channel.
  6. Tap Select a picture to add a profile photo, then enter your channel name in the name field.
  7. Choose a handle for your channel, then tap Create channel to confirm. You can now start customizing your channel and add descriptions, links, and emails.

📌 Why this matters

Why this matters

Creating a YouTube channel directly on an iPhone is useful when you want to start publishing quickly without sitting at a desktop, especially for creators who shoot and upload entirely from their phone. The mobile creation flow is faster for getting a channel live, even if some customization options require a follow-up visit to YouTube Studio on desktop. For small business owners or solo creators who primarily work from their phones, knowing exactly what can and cannot be configured in the app prevents confusion and incomplete setups. Getting the channel live first and refining it later is a practical approach that keeps momentum going.
