How to Mute Words on LinkedIn

Try this interactive demo to learn how to mute words on LinkedIn.
  1. Go to a post on your feed and click the ‘three-dot’ (⋯) icon in the top-right corner.
  2. Select either ‘Hide post’ or ‘Not interested’.
  3. LinkedIn will show fewer similar posts over time. Do this for unwanted posts, and your feed will improve as the algorithm learns.

📌 Why this matters

You can't completely eliminate specific keywords from your LinkedIn feed, but training the algorithm this way creates a personalized filter that works surprisingly well. Your professional network constantly shares content about industry trends, job changes, and company updates - much of which may not align with your current goals or interests. By consistently marking irrelevant posts as uninteresting, you're essentially teaching LinkedIn's recommendation system to prioritize content that matches your career focus, making your daily scroll more productive and less overwhelming.
