  2. Enter RANK(SUM([Field])) to rank values based on the selected field.
  3. Rename the field to “Sales Rank.”
  4. Click 'OK' to confirm the calculated field.
  5. Your aggregate data will appear in the Data pane.
  6. From the Data pane, drag a String(Abc) field onto the Rows shelf.
  7. Drag the aggregated field (Sales Rank) to the Marks card and change it from Color to ‘Text’.
  8. A table showing the rank of your selected field will appear.

📌 Why this matters

Ranking transforms raw data into competitive insights, letting you instantly spot your best and worst performers without manually sorting through hundreds of rows. You can quickly identify which products drive the most revenue, which sales reps exceed targets, or which regions underperform. Beyond simple identification, rankings reveal performance gaps and distribution patterns—you'll see whether your top performer significantly outpaces others or if performance clusters around similar levels, informing whether you need targeted interventions or broad strategic shifts.
