Try this guided demo to learn how to remove footer in Google Slides.
  1. Open your Google Slide presentation and click "Slide" from the toolbar.
  2. From the menu, select "Edit theme".
  3. Select the top master slide or layout.
  4. Click the footer text at the bottom of the slide.
  5. Right-click then select "Delete" to remove the footer in Google Slides.
  6. Click the exit button to close the theme editor.

📌 Why this matters

Removing footers gives you complete control over your slide's visual hierarchy and branding consistency. When presenting to different audiences or repurposing slides for new contexts, outdated footer information like old dates, irrelevant company details, or previous event names can undermine your credibility. Footer removal also maximizes your content space, particularly valuable for slides heavy with data or visuals. Since footers appear across all slides using that theme, eliminating them prevents having to manually hide footer content on individual slides throughout your presentation.
