Try this guided demo to learn how to remove watermark in Google Slides.
  1. On your slide, click Slide on the top menu, then select Edit theme.
  2. In the Edit Theme window, click the top master slide (the first slide).
  3. Right-click on the top master slide, then click Detach image from background.
  4. Click the background image, then press Delete on your keyboard.
  5. Click any slide on the left side panel.
  6. The watermark on your slide will be removed.

📌 Why this matters

Removing watermarks gives you complete creative control over your presentation's visual hierarchy and branding. You can replace distracting template watermarks with your own logo, maintain consistent company branding across slides, or create a clean canvas that directs attention to your content. Template watermarks often clash with your color scheme or compete with important text, making slides look unprofessional. Once removed, you can strategically place your own subtle branding elements exactly where they enhance rather than distract from your message.
