How to See Previous Versions of Google Slides

Try this interactive demo to learn how to see previous versions of Google Slides.
  1. Open your Google Slides file.
  2. Click on the version history icon to open.
  3. A panel will appear on the right showing past versions. Select the version you want and your slide will revert to that version.

📌 Why this matters

Accessing previous versions lets you recover accidentally deleted content, compare different design approaches, and restore presentations that collaborators may have inadvertently modified. Beyond simple recovery, version history becomes your creative safety net when experimenting with bold changes or trying multiple design directions. You can take risks with layouts, colors, and content knowing you can always return to any previous state. This transforms how you approach revisions—instead of being cautious about making changes, you can iterate freely and choose the strongest version from your entire creative process.
