Use this interactive demo to learn how to check your YouTube video analytics step by step.

Quick summary

YouTube Studio analytics lets creators track views, watch time, impressions, and audience data for every video from a single dashboard. Use the per-video analytics page in YouTube Studio to measure performance across reach, engagement, and audience tabs.

Steps

  1. Go to studio.youtube.com and click Content in the left sidebar.
  2. Find the video and click the Analytics icon (bar chart) to open its analytics page.
  3. On the Overview tab, review views, watch time, subscribers, and revenue.
  4. Open the Reach tab to see impressions, click-through rate, and traffic sources.
  5. Go to the Engagement tab to check view duration and retention, and note where viewers drop off.
  6. Click the Audience tab to see whether viewers are subscribed or not, and which other channels they watch.
  7. Use the date range selector to compare performance in the first 24 hours after publishing versus longer-term performance.

📌 Why this matters

YouTube Studio's per-video analytics dashboard gives creators actionable data on views, watch time, click-through rate, audience retention, and traffic sources — all in one place. Understanding these metrics helps creators identify which content resonates, where viewers drop off, and how to optimize future videos for growth. The Reach, Engagement, and Audience tabs provide a complete picture of video performance from discovery through to subscriber conversion. Creators who regularly review YouTube video analytics make faster, data-driven decisions that compound channel growth over time.
