Follow this interactive demo to learn how to select slides in Google Slides.
  1. Open your Google Slide presentation.
  2. Click on a slide in the thumbnail panel to select it—it'll get a blue border to confirm your selection.
  3. Hold Shift and click another slide to select a range. Great for moving or styling multiple slides at once.

📌 Why this matters

Selecting slides lets you batch edit formatting, duplicate entire sections, or rearrange your presentation structure in seconds rather than minutes. Beyond basic organization, slide selection becomes crucial when you're adapting presentations for different audiences—you can quickly isolate and modify specific sections without rebuilding from scratch. When collaborating with teammates, being able to select and move chunks of content means you can seamlessly merge different people's contributions or reorganize based on feedback without losing your formatting work.
