Use this interactive demo to learn how to share a Postman collection with your entire team in minutes.

Quick summary

Sharing Postman collections with team members lets you centralize API requests and control access through built-in permission settings. Using the General Access options, you can grant your whole team viewer or editor rights and distribute the collection via a shareable link.

Steps

  1. In Postman's main workspace, open the left-side panel and click Collections.
  2. Hover over the collection you want to share and click the View More Actions button next to it.
  3. Select Share from the dropdown list of options.
  4. In the General Access section, click the drop-down menu next to the Everyone in Team option.
  5. Choose the specific permission level you want to assign — such as Viewer or Editor.
  6. Click Copy Link and send the URL to your team members in Postman.

📌 Why this matters

Sharing Postman collections with team members streamlines API collaboration by giving everyone instant access to the same set of pre-built requests, reducing duplication and onboarding time. Granular permission controls — such as Viewer and Editor roles — let teams maintain governance over who can modify critical API workflows. By distributing a single shareable link through Postman's General Access settings, engineering and QA teams can stay aligned without manual file exports or version conflicts. This makes Postman an essential tool for any team looking to standardize and accelerate their API development process.
