Use this interactive demo to learn how to view and compare page version history in Confluence.

Quick summary

Confluence version history lets you track changes made to any page by comparing past versions side by side. Use the More actions menu to access version history and review recent edits made by your team.

Steps

  1. Open the page you want to review to see your team's progress.
  2. Click the three dots (More actions) to view additional page options.
  3. Click Version history from the dropdown menu.
  4. Click the different versions in the version history panel to compare changes.
  5. Alternatively, click View Changes if shown, to see a summary of recent edits.
  6. Navigate to the relevant section within the version view to review changes in detail.

📌 Why this matters

Confluence's version history feature gives teams full visibility into how pages evolve over time, making it easy to audit edits, restore previous content, and understand who changed what. For project managers and content teams, the ability to compare page versions side by side reduces miscommunication and keeps documentation accurate. This built-in change tracking is essential for compliance, knowledge management, and collaborative workflows inside Atlassian's Confluence platform.
